A noble house
Castello Quistini was commissioned by the nobleman Ottaviano as a fortified residence to replace the Castle of Rovato, and was first named Palazzo Porcellaga. [DA CONFERMARE: data di costruzione]
On the day you may use the Column Hall, the more intimate Grotesque Hall, the porticoes and the gardens. [DA CONFERMARE: capienza]
The Column Hall
Probably the oldest and most important building of the complex: partly below ground, vaulted, in three aisles. Cross-vaults rest on eight Sarnico-stone pillars with a Tuscan-inspired base.

The Grotesque Hall
Named after the grotesque masks on the upper cornice. Nineteenth-century tempera decorations, applied with a stencil technique. Over the doors, in Venetian green, the four seasons; on the ceiling, Minerva with an owl. The Venetian floor is a mosaic of small marble pieces.
Suited to more intimate receptions. [DA CONFERMARE: capienza]
