Labyrinths and roses
Four gardens in one: labyrinth, secret garden, bioenergetic garden and brolo.
Rose labyrinth
Three large concentric circles of roses, with a gazebo at the centre covered by a once-flowering climber (Banksiae Alba and Banksiae Alba Plena). The sectors tell the story of the rose: rugosas, modern, old, and towards the nursery the English roses of David Austin, as far as the arch of Mme Alfred Carrière.
[DA CONFERMARE: varietà di rose]
Secret garden
A small hidden garden outside the walls, with particular hydrangeas (Hydrangea): mopheads, Teller, involucrata, quercifolia, paniculata, serrata Preziosa, Annabelle, Tricolor, Aspera.
You return through a door under the only one of the five corner towers that has a roof: a brick dome laid in a spiral.
Bioenergetic garden
Created in 2004 by Marco Nieri and architect Chiara Odolini. The Bioenergetic Landscape project starts from the old idea that plants also benefit people psychologically, sensorially and emotionally.
The castle brolo
In the productive part of the house, old fruits have been replanted: biricoccolo (nostrano, gigante, vesuviano), nashi, Brogiotto fig, quince pear. Jams are made from the fruit. A small hortus holds about fifty medicinal plants, including yarrow, echinacea and wormwood.
